The protests at the Inauguration set the terms of protest during the Trump era. People in DC and around the world have stepped up our resistance. Unfortunately, over 200 people who were illegally kettled for up to 11 hours are facing charges that could land them in jail for 10 years. All this while police were documented to have broken protocol with reckless abandon.
If DC officials proclaim to stand against the new regime’s brutality, they must drop the charges against all protesters. Join us during this national week of action to write and call local officials who have influence over the ongoing cases. Many of the defendants are our friends, comrades, and fellow organizers.
We can also brainstorm ways to keep building pressure on city officials, so come for the letters, and stay for the scheming!
